Mar 23, 2010--Riverside Co Board of Supervisor's weekly meeting at 9 am included a public hearing for the Redevelopment Area proposal that included Meadowbrook.  This was a critical event for us to speak about our opposition to the RDA proposal that greatly affects our rural environment.  The RDA staff physically escorted in residents from the Goodhope Community to speak in support of their plans.  Some needed a Spanish  interpreter to express their wishes for street lights in their neighborhoods.  The Supervisors voted in favor of the RDA Area that includes Meadowbrook.

Aug 26, 2009--Meadowbrook Community meeting at Peach St. RV Park.  Primary issues discussed were codes enforcement concerns in our community and anticipated recall efforts regarding Marion Ashley, 5th District Supervisor for Riv Co.  Also, petition format for Meadowbrook to be excluded from RDA Proposed Area was finalized for printing.  Some residents volunteered to handle petitions for signing by registered voters living in Meadowbrook.
 
Aug 15, 2009--Monthly meeting of Riv Co Unified Communities (RCUC) in Sun City at Boston Billies (in the shopping center).  Guest speaker was Sheriff Sniff, Riv Co.

Aug 4, Aug 11, Aug 18, Aug 25, 2009--Weekly Riv Co Board of Supervisors meetings.  Meadowbrook residents attended and spoke up for our cause.

Jul 22, 2009--RDA Community Workshop sponsored by Riverside County RDA at Good Meadow Community Center, 21565 Steel Peak Drive, Perris, CA 92570.  6 pm to 8 pm.  RDA put out flyers inviting Residents of Meadowbrook to provide input on community priorities for the proposed RDA plan.  Only two people from Meadowbrook showed up.  The county takes this as a sign that residents are happy with their proposed RDA because they aren't coming out to oppose it.

Jun 23 & Jun 30, 2009--Weekly Riv Co Board of Supervisors meeting.  Meadowbrook residents attended and spoke up for our cause.  Comments were presented in writing to become part of the meeting record.  This is in anticipation of future legal action against the county regarding their RDA plan for Meadowbrook.  We are opposed to their plan, and want our opposition to be fully documented.  

Jun 20, 2009--Monthly meeting of Riv Co Unified Communities (RCUC) in Sun City.  Speaker was Lt. Dep. J. McNamara from Riverside Co Sheriff's Office.  He spoke about how illegal immigrants are processed in the jail.

Jun 2, Jun 9, Jun 16, 2009--Weekly Riv Co Board of Supervisors meeting.  Meadowbrook residents attended and spoke up for our cause.   

May 27, 2009--Monthly Meadowbrook Community meeting at Peach St. RV Park.  Residents heard review of RDA status by Garry Grant.  Discussion was about strategy for opposition by Meadowbrook community members.

Apr 18, 2009--Monthly meeting of Riv Co Unified Communities (RCUC) in Sun City at Boston Billies.  Speaker was Director of LAFCO for Riverside County.

Mar 23, 2009--MAC monthly meeting was held at the Perris Senior Center, 100 North D Street, Perris.  Agenda included Redevelopment proposal for Meadowbrook, Goodhope, Warm Springs (The Grove) and South Mead Valley.

Mar 18, 2009--Meadowbrook Community Meeting, 6 pm to 8 pm, Meadowbrook RV Park on Peach Street.  Discussion about opposition to Redevelopment Proposal.

Mar 3, 2009--Meadowbrook residents spoke at Board of Supervisor's Meeting in Riverside, stating opposition to RDA Proposal.

Feb 27, 2009--Meadowbrook residents to go EDA headquarters in Riverside to obtain documents and ask questions related to RDA.

Feb 25, 2009--Meadowbrook residents hold meeting to discuss Redevelopment situation and plan opposition strategy.

Feb 23, 2009--MAC meeting in Perris.  Several citizens expressed opposition to the RDA after their questions were not answered by the MAC committee members.  Problem:  MAC won't discuss anything not on their meeting agenda, yet doesn't provide info on how we can get our issues onto the agenda.

Mid-Feb, 2009--EDA mails out surveys to residents for input on preferences for improvements.  Note:  The Survey did not ask for approval or disapproval of the RDA project, only wanted feedback on items predetermined by RDA staff.

Feb 10, 2009--Riv Co Board of Directors meeting in Riverside.  Meadowbrook property owners presented, for the record, their rationale opposing the RDA project.

Feb 7, 2009--Meadowbrook representatives attend workshop about Eminent Domain in Long Beach.

Jan 27, 2009--Meadowbrook representatives attend Board of Supervisors Meeting to object to RDA plans.

Jan 26, 2009--MAC meeting in Perris.  RDA staff presented slide show about their past accomplishments in other areas of the county.  Members from the four communities spoke in opposition or had questions about the proposal.  No specific information or details about plans were given by the RDA staff.  MAC committee members refused to respond to questions by citizens, claiming they are inhibited by Calif statute.

Jan 17, 2009--Meadowbrook residents attend monthly meeting of Riverside County Unified Communities in Sun City.  Speaker was Robert Byrd, Auditor-Controller.  Some discussion time was about the Redevelopment fund process, taxes, and bonds.

Nov 24, 2008--MAC meeting in Perris.  Postponed RDA presentation because of overcrowded room--beyond capacity allowed by Fire Marshall.

October 2008--Riv Co RDA sends out flyers announcing proposal for Redevelopment annex to the I-215 Corridor Redevelopment Project.  This annex includes a plan for Meadowbrook to become a part of the Redevelopment Area, along with three other communities:  Goodhope, Mead Valley, and Warm Springs (The Grove).
